Merry Christmas

Silent Night, Holy Night!  Bethlehem held a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service for all families of the congregation and neighbors in the community.  After a long wait and much anticipation through the season of Advent, tonight the whole community gathered together and celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.

In the sentimental sweetness of this night, it is easy to forget the power of the event.  God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).  Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  Tonight we celebrate Jesus, the Savior that is born for us, the Savior for all who believe.

Our prayer is that you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the magi, and the peace of the Christ Child.  May you receive Jesus as your personal Savior.  The Bible says, "For as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name (John 1:12).
